Why I built this
I just wanted to play more volleyball.
Hi, I'm Sam Rosati. Session started because I was hosting tournaments for my friends and spending more time on admin than on the sand. What began as an informal thing kept growing, so I started building tools to automate the boring parts — so I could play more and manage less.
Along the way I kept running into the same problems everywhere in the beach volleyball community: a dozen group chats for every event, no easy way to find a sub when someone dropped out, clinics with too wide a skill range, and registrations and waitlists that were more stressful to run than the tournament itself. I built Session to fix all of it — and to grow the sport right here in my backyard, Kits Beach.
Beach volleyball has given me a community — friendly faces every time I show up, a good workout, a way to blow off steam, and a lot of fun. That's what I want to share with more people, and connect everyone who feels the same way.
Our philosophy
One rating, every court. Wherever you play, it all counts toward the same ranking — no fragmented leaderboards per organization.
